I taught 1-3rd grade in Costa Mesa and Yuba City for a total of 10 years.

What do you think is/are the best thing(s) about SSCS?

Do (did) you homeschool your kids?
I do not.
What is your favorite curriculum?
Studies Weekly (the newspaper social studies) is a lot of fun for K-6. The style of having an extra large newspaper is fun while still learning all social studies concepts needed for each grade level.
What is your favorite read aloud book?
I love reading the I Survived series with my kids.
What is your favorite field trip?
The Museum of Forgotten Warriors in Marysville
What is your area of expertise? (dyslexia, autism, reading, etc.)
Teaching reading in the primary grades
What is your dream summer vacation?
Alaska is on the bucket list.
What is your favorite subject to teach?
I love working through elective courses with my HS kids. Talking about forensics, anthropology, astronomy, and criminal justice is a lot of fun.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Go on adventures with my family. Going on rides in our atv, camping, and hiking are just a few things we do.
What is something interesting about yourself that many people might not know?
I played soccer for a month in Europe when I was 11.
